A Word from Joy

Enclosed, surrounded, covered, protected, loved, safe and I could go on and on…

 This is exactly how I feel about the love of God.

I am constantly in His care.

A song I used to sing says:

“Although there have been times I’ve stepped out of His Will…I have never been out of His care.”

 The love of God is constant and no matter what, He is there for me and for you.

The eyes of God are upon me
They see everything I do
The arms of God are around me
They keep me safe and secure

And He knows where I am
Every hour of every day
He knows each thought I think
He knows each word that I might say
And although there were times
I stepped out of His will
I’ve never been out of His care

This changing world alarms me
With war, with sin, with strife

“What We’ve Achieved Together!”

 

So Many Blessings!

• We have been developing wonderful relationships with more family members of prisoners.  We recently began communicating with a grandmother of a prisoner.  Her Grandson was brutally beaten in his prison and subsequently transferred to another facility.  We understand the feeling of helplessness for these situations – but although sometimes helpless, we are not hopeless.  That is our message!
• We continue our parking lot ministry when we visit our son at his prison.  Slowly, we are seeing results and relationships built.  We just received a wonderful email from the wife of a prisoner (that we met in the parking lot) thanking us for our prayers and support. 

 

• In our last two newsletters we were very honest in our need for more speaking engagements.  Our calendar for June was almost empty.  Praise God!  We now have SIX opportunities to speak and minister in June.  Only God!!

 

• The new roof, gutters and downspouts that we mentioned in our last newsletter are all finished!!   What an incredible miracle of God!    $30,000 worth of work and we only need the $1,000 insurance deductible.  We know God will provide that soon. Thank you, Jesus!

• We continue to have the privilege of ministering in a church plant in Caldwell, Ohio.  They were meeting in a warehouse, but now have their own building.  It is wonderful to see this baby church grow and we are delighted to be a small part.

 

 

Supporting Church Focus – Crossroads Baptist

      

We thank God for the local churches that support CrossPower and Outside the Walls.  This month, we want to feature Crossroads Baptist in Columbus, Oho.  Pastor Paul Gabriel has done an incredible job of building one of the most culturally diverse churches we have ever known.  Their congregation looks like Heaven will look like.  Crossroads has supported us for a number of years and we thank God for Pastor Paul and the sweet people of this wonderful church

 

Where we’re Headed!

Here’s what’s on the immediate horizon for CrossPower. 

• We are so thankful for the six opportunities to minister  in June.  We will once again be in Caldwell at Fellowship 41 on June 7.  Bob has the privilege of emceeing a benefit concert for Go To The World and their Ark project on June 6.  June 14 will find us at Mechanicsburg Baptist and Bob will be teaching at Bible Baptist in Marysville, Ohio on June 10 & 17.

 

• We try to visit our son twice a month and engage in our parking lot outreach where we distribute gift cards and contact information to other families who are visiting their loved ones.   

 

• We are continuing to produce new podcasts for both Outside The Walls and Bob’s The Word on The world.   Bob’s podcasts are now available on most podcast platforms and the audience is growing rapidly.  You can access them at www.bobtalk.com

 

• We continue to pray for new contacts at the prison as we visit our son.

 

 

“Partner with Us”

PRAY:

• Pray that God will give us clarity in the direction of our ministries.   We know God is leading in some new areas, but we want to make sure we listen carefully and follow God’s plan for us.     

 

• Continue to pray for our “parking lot” ministry at our son’s prison.   Pray that God continues to provide the resources for our gift cards. 

 

• Health and safety in our travels. 

 

• Would you pray that God would provide the resources for a Walk-in Shower?  This has really become a need – and they are not cheap.  We know somehow God will provide.

 

• Continue to pray for Bob’s podcast.  The podcasts are available at www.bobtalk.com as well as iHeart podcasts, Apple podcasts and Spotify.   The audience is growing.  Please listen, follow and tell others.

 

• Pray for direction in new podcasts on the Outside The Walls website  

 

SUPPORT:

In our May newsletter we were very honest as to the somewhat dire situation concerning our finances.  We honestly did not see how we could end the month in the black, apart from God’s wonderful provision.  Well, God did it!   Several of you sent special gifts and we ended the month with all needs met.  Praise God!   With Outside The Walls, we are giving out more financially than probably any time in our ministry.  As God provides, we give.   We’ve been able to help with transportation needs, rent, food and other assistance to the families of the incarcerated.  We thank you for your for your continued support! 

We appreciate your financial support – and need it – but even greater is your prayer support!!   Keep praying – God will take care of the rest.

A Word From Bob

Recently two individuals at different places and different times gave me the greatest compliment I could be given.  Both of them said, “You taught me to love God’s Word.  Thank you!” Nothing could encourage me more.  Joy and I have been trying to teach people to love God’s Word for over 55 years now – and we have no plans on stopping.  Both CrossPower and Outside The Walls are built totally on the teaching and commands of the Bible.   The Cross is the central theme of all of scripture.  The Cross brings life, liberty, eternal life, joy, fulfillment and so much more.  This IS the message of CrossPower.  Scripture is also clear that we are to minister to those in need.  The Bible talks a lot about prisoners and their need and possibility of freedom.  The message of Grace teaches that no one is beyond the forgiveness of the Blood of Jesus.  No one.  There is also the fact that much of the New Testament was written from a prison cell.   We are grateful that even as we reach our later 70’s we still have the privilege of proclaiming the liberating message of The Cross.  And YOU are a part of it.  Thank you!
